The Intercessor

Evangelist Demetria Springfield Banks is a powerful prayer warrior, a much sought after speaker, mentor and the wife of Walter James Banks, Jr.

Raised in Memphis, TN, she received salvation at an early age, later joining Temple of Deliverance COGIC in 1992, under the leadership of Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson. It was there that her spiritual life flourished immensely in many ways. Evangelist Banks received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and began to walk in her calling as an intercessor. Training under many seasoned mothers of prayer, God used her to tap into many levels of intercessory prayer. Her gift did indeed make room for her on a plethora of platforms.

Evangelist Banks currently serves as one of the intercessors at her local church under the pastorage of Bishop Milton R. Hawkins, often leading and assisting with the various prayer meetings; one of the intercessory team members for her jurisdiction, Tennessee Fourth, as well as one of the intercessors on the International Church of God In Christ Intercessory Prayer Team.

 

Her second book, Prayer Pearls: Priceless Inspiration, is a best seller and one Evangelist Banks is very passionate about. Afterall, the ministry of prayer is very dear to her heart. It teaches practical principles for breakthrough prayer, as well as shares prayer nuggets given to Evangelist Banks during her times of prayer.

 

God continues to use her greatly to minister in prayer, shifting the atmosphere into an atmosphere of countless breakthroughs. A calling that she is most grateful and honored to have. Indeed whom God calls, He qualifies (Romans 8:30). He has certainly equipped Evangelist Banks to serve in this high holy calling.​

Her weekly Saturday morning prayer hour, BreakAway 30 Prayer, captivates the attention of individuals globally. Praying through for breakthrough, the Word of Knowledge and Wisdom, and prophetic utterances characterize the life changing morning prayer sessions.
